Welcome to Manor Abbey School! Below is the breakdown of a typical school day to help you plan your day effectively.

 

Daily Schedule

Form Time:

  • 8:45 AM – 9:15 AM

Start your day with form time. This is a great opportunity to get organised and receive important announcements.

Period 1:

  • 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM

Engage in your first class of the day.

Period 2:

  • 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM

Continue your learning journey with your second class.

Break:

  • 10:45 AM – 11:00 AM

Take a short break to relax and recharge.

Period 3:

  • 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM

Return to class for the third class of the day.

Period 4:

  • 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM

Attend your fourth class before lunchtime.

Lunch:

  • 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM

Enjoy your lunch break. This is a time to eat, socialise, and prepare for the afternoon.

Period 5:

  • 1:15 PM – 2:00 PM

Start the afternoon with your fifth class.

Period 6:

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Conclude the day’s classes with period six.

 

Dismissal and Transportation

Taxi Arrival:

  • From 2:45 PM

Taxis will begin arriving from 2:45 PM to ensure that all students can depart by 3:00 PM.

Manor Abbey school aims to provide as close to 32.5 hours per week of school time as is possible. Students in our alternative provision attend for 6 hours and 15 minutes per day, however as a provision we are acutely aware of the significant distance that most of our students travel (up to 2.5 hours a day) and therefore an increase in this time could be detrimental to our students.

Manor Abbey School believe that our school timetable complies with the below extract from the DFE guidance

Specialist settings, including special schools and alternative provision, support a wide range of pupils with diverse needs and therefore currently structure their school week in more varied ways than mainstream schools. Therefore, the expectation for a minimum school week of 32.5 hours does not apply to these settings. However, specialist settings should share the overall ambition to increase the length of the school week, where it is beneficial for their pupils to do so
